Spring 2, 2022 Sport Event
Early March was very busy with many events. We were very proud to see Jacob do so well in the West Yorkshire School Games competition at Temple Newsam, it is a delight to see our runners reach their potential. The KS2 Girl’s Football team played brilliantly against the Trust Schools in a friendly tournament; it is so refreshing to see so many girls across the year groups enjoying football at Haworth and we want to continue to encourage this! A group of Year 6 pupils enjoyed a climbing experience at the High Adventure Centre where they pushed themselves to improve their climbing skills. The final Cross Country race of the season took place at Marley and the KS2 children put in an astounding effort against the cold, icy rain that did not stop!! The Year 3 Handball team had a fantastic time at Lees Primary School, playing mini matches against thTrust Schools, again in typical, freezing Spring conditions! Our final event this half term was the much-loved Bunny Run. It was lovely to have a familiar Bunny back for our children to enjoy chasing after a few years break because of Covid. Thanks again to Gary Chapman for filling these boots! It was lovely to thank our Super Dads Gary and Pete for the money they raised for School on completing the Spine Run earlier this year. They delivered a fascinating assembly about the Spine Run which the children enjoyed greatly!
Spring 1, 2022 Sport Events
More Trust events have been enjoyed this half term with a fun Badminton skills session at Oakworth with Year 5/6 children who represented our School brilliantly! Well done to all the children that took part in the KS2 Cliffe Castle Cross Country race, it was great to see some new runners and the regular runners of course, a fabulous effort put in by all! The last race for the season will be on March the 16th at Silsden Park. Finally, a massive well done to the children that took part in a KS2 Panathlon event in the last week of the half term with other Bradford Schools. It was a fun but competitive experience for this group of children.
Autumn 2, 2021 Sport Events
Well done to all the children that have taken part in the Cross Country races this half term in the wet, muddy and windy conditions! They have shown great effort and enjoyment in these difficult conditions. There will be two more races in the New Year, February the 10th at Cliffe Castle and then March the 16th at Silsden Park. The Year 3 boys enjoyed their football tournament against the Trust Schools and there will be more competitions to come in the New Year for other Year Groups.
Autumn 1, 2021 Sport Events
It has been wonderful to see all the competitions back to normal this Autumn. Well done to all the children that have taken part. U11's Girls' Football Final at Hanson Academy-14th February
Well done to our U11's girls' football team, they played a very tough competition on the last day of term against the best teams locally. Being a mainly Y5 team with the support of our fabulous Y6 Goal Keeper it was incredibly difficult to meet the match of the predominantly Y6 teams they were up against at the final. However these are the girls that have shown interest in football at Haworth and they showed some great skills which led them to get to these finals. Unfortunately, they did not get through to the semi finals of the final but they battled all the way and did not give up even with injuries. I was very proud of their efforts and can see with some more practise they could be back there in Y6. Thanks to all the adults that transported the team on a very wet and blustery afternoon!

Lund Park Cross Country Race-14th November 2019
Well done to all the many runners from KS2 that took part in a very boggy race at Lund Park yesterday! Those that completed it with their shoes still attached- Good job and those that completed it with shoes in hands- Good effort!! An extra well done to the children that have not competed before, I hope you have not been put off. Lovely to see so many smiles at the end of the races, you should all be very proud of yourselves. Thanks to all the Parents and Guardians for transporting the children and for dealing with extremely muddy children and clothes at the end!
